Retirement Collection for Miss Simons

A few parents have asked whether we are organising a collection for Miss Simons’ retirement. While there is absolutely no obligation, if you would like to contribute, please send any donations (cash only) to the school office. Thank you for helping us celebrate her many years of dedication!

This Week:

  • Cricket Wales came and ran sessions all day with the Caswell and Oxwich classes.  They were able to participate in various cricket drills and enjoyed an energetic introduction to cricket.
  • The halls were a bit quieter as most of the Year 6s were away on Transition Days as they get ready for next school year.
  • The Bay Teams have been busy getting their products and stalls ready for this afternoon’s fete.
  • The Sketty Scouts welcomed some of our students for a carousel of scouting activities.

PTA News

Summer Fete: Eid Edition is today, thank you to all those that have helped make it happen and to all those that have come to enjoy the afternoon together.

School of Sanctuary

We joined 15 other schools at St Mary’s to be presented with our reaccreditation certificates.  The Young Interpreters from Caswell & Oxwich were commendable school ambassadors during the ceremony earlier this week.  They performed a poem about sanctuary as well as singing our school anthem for all those gathered.

Coffee Morning:  Community Welcome

Thank you to those who came along to our Coffee Morning.  It was lovely to share a drink and conversation together.  Thank you as well to the representatives of SASS, City of Sanctuary and the Chinese in Wales Association for coming along as well.  Keep a look out in the new school year for more community coffee mornings, a great time to get to know the school and other parents in an informal setting.

Big Brynmill Tidy Up

Thank you to those that came along on our first Brynmill Tidy up.  We collected several bags worth of rubbish from just a few streets around the school.  Residents and business owners that we met along the way were grateful for our efforts.

25/26 Leavers Hoodies

If you would like to order a leavers hoodie ready for next term, please complete the online form, and pay on iPay – shop option.  Examples of colours can be found in the Oxwich Dojo stories.

If dropping off your child after 9:00am, you must accompany them to the school office to sign them in.

Children in Oxwich are able to walk to school by themselves if given parental consent.  Please fill in the consent form (link below).  Younger siblings must still be brought in by a parent/carer.

Class Photos

Roz & Kirsty Photography will be with us on Tuesday next week to take Class Photos.  Please follow the link below to register your child/children for class photos.  If you have already registered your child/children, there is no need to do so again.

Big Brynmill Tidy Up

Wednesday June 18th after school, we’ll be heading out afterschool on a litter pick in our local area.  This term some of the Bay Groups have been learning about litter, pollution, and the impact humans have on the environment.  They’ve already done some litter picks around the school and thought it would be great to get more of our community involved and to reach more of the area.  The ‘Big Brynmill Tidy Up’ is a great opportunity for us all to work together in partnership with the Friends of Brynmill (PTA), our local councillors and Swansea University who are looking to come along too!  More details on Dojo.
