Flags of Friendship—Celebrating Our Global Community
The Flags of Friendship project invites every family in our school to celebrate their heritage by sponsoring their home country’s flag. These flags will be raised on our school flagpole—either rotated regularly or flown on special national days chosen by families (for example, raising the Welsh flag on St. David’s Day). This simple visual display brings diverse cultures into our daily school life and sends a clear message that every culture is valued. Research confirms that children develop positive self-esteem when their families’ cultures are honoured and respected naeyc.org, so seeing their own flag at school will help every child feel proud and included.
Get Involved!
We invite families to contribute by either:
- Donating a flag (approx. size: 5ft x 3ft) from your home country, along with a note of your national day.
- Sponsoring a flag via iPay – basic flags cost around £6.00, but any additional donations will help us purchase higher quality flags.
If we receive multiple flags from the same country, we will keep extras to replace worn-out flags over time.
You can also make a general donation to support the ongoing upkeep and replacement of flags – all contributions are greatly appreciated!
Thank you for helping us celebrate the cultures and identities that make our school so special. Please fill in the form to get involved. https://forms.office.com/e/1xvA00xqiP

Friends of Brynmill Primary PTA News
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to yesterday’s Brynmill Autumn Boogie!
It was wonderful to see so many new families joining the fun, and together you helped raise over £400 for our school!
A massive thank you to all our amazing volunteers, everyone who donated baked goods, and to the school staff for their support. We simply couldn’t run events like this without your help and enthusiasm.
And what a show of creativity, the costumes were incredible! It was brilliant to see everyone’s unique take on the autumn theme
Green Scene
Our next Green Scene volunteer session will take place on Sunday 19th October, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
This event is open to all parents, carers and children, no experience required! We’ll be getting stuck into lots of jobs to help care for the gardens we’ve created together at school.
All tools and equipment are provided, and we’ll have tea, coffee and Rhannu Bakery’s famous vegan cinnamon buns and a selection of Exotica’s finest fruits to keep everyone fuelled.
Please register if you’re able to attend:
