Art Club

 

Art club is held every Thursday lunch . The activities have included designing a home school bag for Welsh books and working with local artist Sian McGill. We aim to put on an exhibition of art work inspired by her and our local coastline.

Film Club

We hold a film club each Wednesday lunch time. Input from the organisation INTOFILM has guided the format. We watch films, write reviews, and discuss all aspects of the content and production. Many aspects of literacy are taught through the medium of film We also create short films on a variety of themes. We look at all aspects of film production.

 

Year 5/6 Curriculum Information

Any research in these areas of learning would be beneficial to your child.

Questions you might discuss and research:

  • What sporting events have happened recently and what took place during them?
  • How does exercise and diet impact on our health?
  • What makes a successful athlete?

If you have any items (e.g. books) that you believe might be linked to this topic and would support learning, then please bring them in to class.

 

Other Information

Please can your child bring a pencil case to school with a pen, pencil, rubber and ruler.

PE Kit is required for all days and should include clothes that can be left in school. If your child is unable to do PE for a medical reason then a note must be provided.

Assembly themes include:

Relationships, Eid, Changes, Healthy Body and Healthy Mind.

Newsletter w/e 04/05/18

Hello and welcome to our new website, and this blog, which will replace our weekly newsletter.

It has been a busy week with the start of the National Tests for Year 2 to Year 6 pupils. The tests will continue on Tuesday, with time on Wednesday set aside for children who have missed any tests.

Star of the Week – no star of the week today, but from next week, the Stars of the Week will be announced on the Class pages in ClassDojo.

Dates for the Diary – These can now be found on the homepage of this website.

Welsh Water Workshop – KS2 children who have returned their slip to the school office will be attending the Welsh Water Workshop in school next Thursday. Sorry we cannot accept any late slips.

Rags2Riches – Please collect clean used clothing and bedding, we can accept filled bags from Monday 14th May to the morning of Wednesday 16th May, please do not return them before that as we do not have space to collect them. Thank you.

September – Please inform the school office if

  • You will be leaving at the end of the term, and not returning in September.
  • You will be leaving before the end of the term, and hope to return after the start of the next academic year.
